We are at one of the main entrances to the Monterufoli-Caselli Reserve, of which we will visit some spectacular sections. We are in the heart of the Colline Metallifere in the municipalities of Pomarance, Monteverdi M.mo and Montecatini Val di Cecina. With its 4,828 hectares, continuous forest cover and low human presence, the reserve is now recognised as one of the most important wilderness areas in Tuscany, and is also classified at European level as a Special Protection Area.
