After a long, narrow gorge, the Pavone stream flows into the Cecina River, which begins one of its most spectacular stretches as it reaches the Masso delle Fanciulle. Only the final part of the stream enters the Berignone Nature Reserve, right at the confluence with the Cecina River. It is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and interesting torrents in Tuscany, characterised by very high levels of naturalness.
