We are standing on an outcrop of serpentine rocks, magmas from the ocean floor from 180 million years ago. Due to their great extension and considerable power, they are the most representative and widespread rock of Monterufoli, where habitats of rare beauty and scientific interest are formed, characterised by rare species of flora and fauna.
