Villa di Monterufoli

Known as the “Villa of 100 rooms”, it originated from the remains of a rural castle and later became a noble residence, farm and hunting lodge of prominent families, first the Maffei and then the Della Gherardesca.

Following extensive renovation works carried out by the Unione Montana Alta Val di Cecina, the complex now offers accommodation for up to 52 guests, as well as a restaurant, classrooms, educational laboratories and exhibition spaces.

The facility is suitable for school groups, hikers, research groups and workshops interested in exploring the natural environment and environmental themes of the Val di Cecina.

At present, the concession contract for the management of the property is in the process of being finalised by Regione Toscana and Unione Montana Alta Val di Cecina.

Fattoria di Caselli

Overlooking the territory of the historic feudal estate of Caselli, known since the early Middle Ages and once owned by the Della Gherardesca family, the complex has evolved from a castle to a villa and later a farm.

Today it serves as a multifunctional hospitality centre.
The main building (Castelletto) is organised into apartments, while the ground floor hosts reception and representative spaces.
An annex building includes service areas on the ground floor and spaces for offices, educational activities and conferences on the upper floor.
A secondary building houses the Reserve Visitor Centre, an educational and recreational laboratory and guest accommodation for hikers and educational groups.

Since 2025, the Fattoria di Caselli and surrounding land have been entrusted under concession to ASSOCIAZIONE ARMONIA, which organises educational activities, workshops, conferences and also offers accommodation and dining services.

Podere Il Pino and Pod. Caprareccia

The main building within the Berignone forest complex has been renovated by the Unione Montana Alta Val di Cecina and subsequently assigned under concession.
