In 1252 it passed under the jurisdiction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/volterratur.it\/en\/volterra\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Municipality of Volterra<\/a>, and was then reduced to a villa by the end of the 13th century. The small church of S. Bartolomeo became a parish church in the 13th century.
